Roadworks should finish on September 3.
Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandić announced on Friday that summer construction works at 14 sites in Zagreb will end on September 3, because the new school year starts on September 4, Jutarnji list reports on August 25, 2017.
In order to meet the deadline, the Mayor said that workers will be working on weekends as well, in two shifts.
The only site where construction works will continue after September 3 will be tram tracks renovation in Maksimirska Street, which should end by September 19, the Mayor said at a press conference.
He apologised for the inconvenience and said he would personally make sure that the works are finished on time.
Primorska Street was opened today, Most mladosti (Youth Birdge) is closed for traffic until tomorrow morning, and construction works at Savska/Vodnikova/Jukićeva junction should finish on August 31.
