Lado, National Folk Dance Ensemble of Croatia, thrilled an audience of 7,000 fans at their biggest concert yet at Arena Zagreb, FAMA reports.
“Čuvajmo naše blago” concert presented the authentic elements of Croatia in a new and modern way.
Thousands of fans were spellbound by the two-hour performance of one of the world’s best folklore ensembles that brought an entirely new dimension of traditional combination of music and dance.
Members of the ensemble used the impressive 250-metre square stage to present their feature-length programme to the audience, called “Ispod duba stoljetnoga,” which included some of their famous choreographies, but also new dances, such as those traditional to Austrian and Hungarian Croats.
“We are truly very proud of this concert. This is the Ensemble’s first performance at such a big concert hall and it is safe to say that it was a success. It gives us a sense of responsibility to do our best and encourages us to be even better in the future,” Lado Ensemble director Krešimir Dabo said.
In addition to song, dance and admirable production, the authentic appearance of the Ensemble’s dancers, including all element of folk costumes - hair, makeup and the art of presenting national values, played a part in making this event unforgettable.
“We are honoured to have cooperated with such a distinct institution as the Lado Ensemble. I would like to thank the City of Zagreb for recognising the importance of this project and working with us to help make it come true,” Denis Pletikosa, spokesman for Mediteran produkcija concluded.
