Zagreb in History: the 1970s (Photos)

By 25 September 2017

Bright colours and cars everywhere!

Most of our "Zagreb in History" pieces so far have featured black and white photos that, admittedly, evoke a unique sense of nostalgia, but there's something about photos from the '70s as well, don't you think?

The vivid colours, the New Wave and punk brought a musical revolution to the city and brought and all the famous Zagreb musicians that gathered at Kulušić, Saloon opened and became the it place for everyone to go out to on weekends, the tram finally crossed the Sava River and Novi Zagreb was the most modern part of the city, KSET became the centre of the city's alternative scene, and, in 1977, the earliest recorded snow fell on Sljeme - four centimetres, on September 17.

It's a grey day outside, so we could all use some of the bright colours of Zagreb in the '70s.
